Important General Information

  1. Check your CSU email regularly. The Department will communicate with you mainly via email.
  2. You will be required to complete and submit a PhD Student Tracking Form before registration begins for the upcoming fall or spring semester. A registration hold will be placed on student accounts who do not submit a tracking form by the deadline. Important information to be entered on this form generally include:
    – Courses completed and final grade
    – Projected course registration for upcoming semester
    – Credits and content areas completed towards completion of PhD
    – Dissertation status
    – Up-to-date contact information (address, phone, email)
    – If applicable: any change in your visa status
  3. When traveling on CSU business, all travel is approved via the appropriate departmental form.
  4. Any time off during the semester or other expected work periods should be discussed with and approved by your research advisor.
  5. Graduate education is under the auspices of the Graduate School. The Graduate and Professional Bulletin (Graduate Bulletin) contains the rules, regulations, and processes applicable to your matriculation and graduation from Colorado State University. The Graduate Bulletin, all required forms, and dissertation resources are located on the Graduate School website with which you should familiarize yourself. You bear the responsibility for maintaining compliance with the Graduate School’s rules and regulations. If you need assistance, please contact the Program Coordinator or the Graduate School.
